India Clean Air Connect is a response to air quality convenings hosted by the India Climate Collaborative, Clean Air Fund, ClimateWorks Foundation and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation in 2019 and 2020.

Job description
The candidate will be required to support and further ongoing work on air quality governance, policy and institutions in India. Major themes will include the following:
• Understanding the capacities and constraints of environmental regulators
• Strengthening institutional processes around air quality and health policy
• Helping build resources for shared, coherent public messaging on air quality.
There may also be opportunity to simultaneously work in collaboration with other SFC faculty and researchers, should there be overlapping interests (other current SFC focus areas are: climate policy, energy transitions, and adaptation and resilience). In addition, the Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate will eventually be expected to contribute and participate in organizational outreach and grant-support activities.
Eligibility
• Candidates with undergraduate or master’s degree in social sciences, public health, environmental science, or public policy are encouraged to apply
• Relevant work and research experience of at least 2-3 years required
• Training and experience in advanced quantitative or qualitative research methods highly desirable
• Demonstrated interest and experience in air quality or environment policy is desirable.
• Strong writing skills are essential; manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals highly desirable
• Demonstrated ability to take on and execute independent research projects would be a plus
