India Clean Air Connect is a response to air quality convenings hosted by the India Climate Collaborative, Clean Air Fund, ClimateWorks Foundation and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation in 2019 and 2020.

Job description
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is hiring for the posts of 74 consultants across the country. These positions fall under the National Clean Air Program (NCAP)
The application process is cost-free. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official website of CPCB – cpcb.nic.in. The 74 consultant positions are categorized as NCAP Consultants, A, B, and C. Initially these appointments will be on the basis of a contract for a year, which may get extended based on CPCB requirements and performance of the candidate. The maximum age limit for all three consultant categories is 65 years. The eligibility requirements vary for the different consultant positions.

About the organisation
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is the statutory organization that was constituted in September 1974 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974. CPCB was entrusted with the powers and functions under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981.
It serves as a field formation and also provides technical services to the Ministry of Environment and Forests of the provisions of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986. Principal functions of the CPCB, as spelled out in the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, (i) to promote the cleanliness of streams and wells in different areas of the States by prevention, control, and abatement of water pollution, and (ii) to improve the quality of air and to prevent, control or abate air pollution in the country.
